I am currently at my university's library trying to study for my last exam (Theory of Computing) which is less than 2 days away. Instead I find myself doing everything other than studying. Procrastination is sad.
Once exams are over on Friday, I'm jumping right into work on Monday. I wish I took a week off, but I also want money.
I watched How To Train Your Dragon last week and it was a very good movie! I really enjoyed it. It was like Pokemon but with more heart...?
Anyway, back to studying.

The times you don't want to wake up, 'cause in your sleep it's never over when you give up.
The sun is always going to rise up. You need to get up.. gotta keep your head up.
Look at the people all around you.
The way you feel is something everybody goes through.

the phoenix alive
It's exam time! That means eating a lot of instant noodles, sleeping a lot and spending even more time on Facebook, YouTube and other useless sites. My exam schedule this term is really relaxed. I only have three exams, which are spaced about 1 week apart. Unlike previous terms, I don't feel excited about starting co-op next term. I feel like it's just something I have to do. Usually I get really excited and look forward to working again, but I guess I am getting used to the whole co-op thing.
The other day I got really depressed for no reason. I am not sure why, or maybe I do. Little things seem to trigger it. I was really down the entire day. I don't know whether or not this is normal or if I should see someone about it. I went out for a run at 12 am and it seemed to make me feel a lot better, however. I am never satisfied with myself and what I have.
As I write this, I am finishing up my Tim Horton's coffee! I hope I win $10,000!!!!!! (Although I always say that...)
I am currently listening to The Phoenix Alive by Monarchy. It makes me want to get up and dance.
Update: I got "Please Try Again" on my coffee. DAMN!

the worse it gets
It seems I haven't blogged in forever. I blame this on school!
As a random side note, as I write this, I am currently listening to The Worse It Gets by Penguin Prison.
I am in love with this song. Delightful mix of electro, pop and synth.
It has been quite a fun and eventful school term. I've met new people both in and outside of class and have gotten to explore Waterloo much more than previous terms. I hate to admit it, but I'm starting to get comfortable living in this little city. Having said that, I am definitely looking forward to being in Toronto for another work term this summer!
I am so tired right now. I spent all of last night dancing. My friends and I first went to Starlight, which had really bad music last night. The last time I went was on a Saturday, and it had better music (electro, euro, house) but on this Friday night it was music that was not fun to dance to. As a result, we went to Ren which had music that was much more danceable.
An H&M opened at Conestoga Mall in Waterloo on Thursday. I went on opening day hoping there were sales and free stuff, but all I got was a huge crowd (it's like people have never seen an H&M in their entire life) and a long and annoying line up for the fitting rooms.
It has been really nice outside for the past few days, but today is just one of those gloomy and cloudy days. I hope it doesn't rain. I want some frozen yogurt. I think I'm addicted to it.

dance in the dark
So I saw Lady GaGa when she came to Toronto about a week ago and it was AMAZING! I AM SO MUCH MORE IN LOVE WITH HER NOW!!! She is one fierce performer! And her vocals were still good by the end of the entire show!! And her dancers.. ugh.. they were SO HOT.
My work term is coming to an end and I've been going out a lot in the last few weeks. All the co-ops think we're never going to see each other again so we've been hanging out a lot. But for the ones who I am close with, I think we will probably end up hanging out on campus anyway.
Last night I planned a classy dinner night out with two of my favourite co-ops at work but it was a TOTAL BUST! First of all, we froze our asses off trying to find the damn place (Peridot in Yorkville). But worst of all, when we got there, we realized no one actually made reservations and the restaurant was all booked out last night so we ended up not getting in!! It was quite upsetting. We ended up going to Jack Astors instead which was fun because we got to be extra annoying and loud, which we wouldn't be able to do at a fancy restaurant. *Sigh* maybe I'm not mature enough to go out and have a classy dinner.
Although the work term is coming to an end I am excited for:
a) holidays!
b) HOLIDAY SALES+++
c) a new school term (which I will regret once I realize I have to go to classes and do EXAMS)
p.s. I hate WEIRD, SMELLY, LOSERY and TRY-TO-BE-WELL-DRESSED-AND-TRIES-TO-COPY-THEIR-SUPER-FABULOUS-AND-MORE-INTELLIGENT-BITCH-PLEASE-DON'T-GO-THERE-ROOMMATE-BUT-FAILS-MISERABLY boys who pick up new hobbies (playing guitar) because they think it will make them more attractive.

Yesterday I went to The Second City to watch Shut Up and Show Us Your Tweets! which is a show with a collection of often hilarious comedy sketches which are primarily based on Canadian politics and issues. For example, one skit was about stereotypes of various cultures. When a new Chinese family moves in the neighbourhood, their neighbour isn't happy as his son starts learning martial arts. "Next thing you know, he's going to start selling pirated DVDs and spit on the sidewalk!"
After the show, they had a free improv show but it was getting late so we didn't stay (damn weekdays!!).
Lady Gaga tickets were on presale yesterday but only American Express card holders were eligible to purchase them. I asked my uncle but he deeply despises Lady Gaga. When I asked him to purchase tickets for me, he replied, "I don't want to contribute to Lady Gaga's sex change surgery" (he believes she's a man). As a result, I will have to purchase the tickets when they are available for the general public on Saturday. I hope I get good tickets.
I love the new songs that Lady GaGa is releasing with her re-release of The Fame.

bad romance
Sometimes I just wonder about life and what I should be trying to get out of it. I would like to find a hobby that I would stick to--something productive that I can do. I've been watching a lot of TV in the past week or so since many of my fall shows are back.
My TV schedule is as follows:
Monday - Gossip Girl, The Big Bang Theory
Wednesday - Glee, Modern Family
Thursday - Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, Project Runway, Models of the Runway
Friday - Ugly Betty
Sunday - Family Guy, American Dad, The Cleveland Show
Glee keeps getting better and better! I love this show SOOOOo much! It's everything I could want in a show: comedy, drama, wit, singing, awesome guest stars, Broadway actors.... the list goes on! Ugly Betty had its season premiere last Friday and I loved it! Marc and Amanda's blog is hilarioussss!
I told myself to start taking driving lessons, but I don't think I will be doing that this term. I just don't have the energy or interest to do it.
It's starting to get cold here in Toronto, which sucks because I've been jogging outside 3-4 times a week and it's sort of helping me with the sleeping problems that I've been having. Maybe I will continue to jog outside when it gets colder, although I seem to catch colds easily.
Tomorrow is another co-op event that I've been planning with another co-op student. It's going to be at a comedy club called The Second City, which is doing a show called Shut Up and Show Us Your Tweets! I hope it turns out well. Planning can be stressful but I always seem to gravitate towards doing it!
Lady Gaga is coming back to Toronto for her The Fame Monster tour on November 28! Since I will be Toronto, I am going to definitely see her! I missed her last time while I was on a school term. I love her new song, "Bad Romance"!! I like it as much as "Poker Face" even.. which is hard to believe since I was in love with that song for a while.
Last Friday I caught a viewing of Paranormal Activity. Definitely a very scary but fun movie. Loved it.

my favorite things
Nuit Blanche was this Saturday and I actually stayed up the entire night. I wasn't planning to; I was supposed to leave at 2-3ish, but one exhibit led to another and eventually three of my friends and I stayed until sunrise! It got more fun at 4am and onwards; art seems to be more interesting to look at when you are lacking sleep. Unfortunately I did not bring my camera with me so I won't be able to visually show the exhibits I will be talking about next.
My favourite exhibit would have to be the giant Jeff Koons balloon bunny. It was a very powerful image; the gray and very heavy-looking metal colour and texture of the bunny contradicted against its lightweight and air-like qualities.
Another interesting exhibit was this "witch cradle" exhibit. Volunteers were put into a pouch-like cradle which is in the shape of a black star. The pouch was then lifted off the ground, making the volunteer cuddled up into a sort of hovering cocoon. It was interesting because upon first view, it was difficult to guess what was actually in these floating pouches. When I told my friend that I thought there was someone inside these pouches, she didn't believe my hypothesis as it seemed ridiculous to have a person shoved into a little pouch.
Other places I visited are free cotton candy station (yum!), ROM for the vanity fair exhibit, shoe museum and this flashing light exhibit that supposedly makes you hallucinate.
Over the weekend, I also watched Sound of Music at the Princess of Wales theatre in Toronto, which I've wanted to do for a long time but none of my friends wanted to go with me. The show was amazing. The understudy for Maria and also the runner-up on CBC's How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?, Janna Polzin, took on the leading role for this particular showing, which was very exciting since she was my favourite contestant on the reality competition. Immediately during her first song, "The Sound of Music," Janna was able to showcase the fun, excited, energetic and loving personality of Maria.
The chemistry between Maria and the seven Trapp family children was very believable. The kids were all amazing and absolutely adorable. However, the same cannot be said about the chemistry between Maria and Captain Georg von Trapp, played by Burke Moses. Although both actors played their roles very well, there just didn't seem to be any chemistry between them. It was difficult envisioning them as a real couple.
The most memorable and mesmerizing actress, however, was Noëlla Huet, who plays The Mother Abbess. Her performance of "Climb Ev'ry Mountain" at the end of Act I gave me goosebumps and left me speechless. The emotion she poured into the song felt real and left such a strong impression on me. Her last note on the song was so powerful and sounded absolutely angelic. It was a pleasure to see her perform that song.
Another amazing aspect of the show was the set. The technology and machinery used to create the set made it come to life. The floating platform they used to create the hills was absolutely breathtaking. There were so many different backdrops used for the show that it almost seemed like I was watching a movie; it seemed impossible that so much could be put onto a theatre stage.
All in all, the show was absolutely amazing. In fact, I want to see it again before it closes in January. I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it yet.

It's been a month since my co-op term at Indigo Books and Music started and I have to say that it's probably my most enjoyable work term to date. Everyone is friendly and easy to talk to and I've made a few friends from the other co-op students. In terms of work, I am mostly doing debugging for the website so hopefully I will receive a more exciting project soon. My TV schedule is beginning to fill up as fall shows return, but I am most excited about watching Glee. I am a total GLEEk!! I think I talk too much about it at work but I just love it so much.

"I'm Beyonce, I ain't no Kelly Rowland!!"Another show that I am equally obsessed with is the current season of Project Runway. My favourite contestant so far is Chirstopher Straub for several reasons.
Aside from watching as much TV as I possibly can, I also would like to start taking driving lessons soon before winter starts and the city gets attacked by snow. But I am lacking motivation to do anything productive right now.

Exams are over! Finally!! Although I am still having my exam hangover (i.e. waking up early stressed out thinking I still have to study for an exam).
I am visiting my aunt right now and they have a ravine in their backyard. I went exploring for a bit and I found a pond full of little frogs!! I should've taken a photo. I might do that later. I just had sushi buffet for lunch and I am so full! Although I still want more of that green tea ice cream. Or maybe even more chocolate ice cream as well. Mmm..!
Tomorrow I will be heading off to LA in the morning. I am excited!

update on my life
What a long weekend! I had to balance a crapload of school work, planning/hosting my friend's birthday party and hanging out with some of my friends who came to visit from Toronto. Today is the last day of lectures, which is bittersweet because that signals the beginning of final exams (ughh...). I can't wait until exams are over so that I can relax and enjoy my trip to LA.
paris hilton's my new bff
I am so glad Amanda's gone. I hated that girl! I didn't like how she had so much attitude towards Liz Habib from FOX News. I also don't like Stefanie. Stop crying please! Go Tiniecia and Stephen!! I can't wait to see their friends and family! :)

Haha, I absolutely love Ronnie! I don't think he's as evil and manipulative as everyone thinks he is. I think it's just because everyone else is stupid and gullible. I am glad Laura was evicted; her two girls were just all in my face. I kind of like Jessie now. Although I hated him so much in the previous season, he is growing on me now. I like the whole Natalie-Jessie-Lydia love triangle that is starting to happen. It's hilarious! The scene when Russell tried to bond with Kevin was sweet and funny as well. I don't really have a favourite yet, but I am starting to get annoyed at Jeff, Natalie and Jordan. Natalie is just annoying, Jordan needs to redo elementary school and I just hate Jeff for his disrespectful comments that CBS apparently censored.

obsessions
This post is solely devoted to PH'S My New BFF, Season 2. I just finished watching 7 episodes!
All I can say is, drama, drama, drama! These contestants love drama and they are not afraid to bitch out for the stupidest reasons. Even David, who considers himself to be the chill masculine straight guy, got all up in Amanda's business after she hid his shoelaces. My favourite episode so far has to be episode 3 when Katie says to Paris "Good luck on your next porno. F*** you Paris. You're not as nice as people think you are." Finally, someone has the guts to say it to her face. Oh, and I absolutely loved how Katie reminds me of Amy Winehouse (minus the whole hideous goth ballerina/Disney princess fashion thing she had going on).
The two contestants I like the most are Tiniecia, with her straight-up and bitch-I-don't-take-no-shit-from-you attitude and Stephen, the gay Mormon, for his hilarious commentary. I hope one of them wins!
Oh and I didn't like how Paris called David a "f***ing tool" behind his back after he got eliminated. How classy of you, Paris. I think someone needs to improve in their choice of words. Ironic how the episode is titled "Must Have Good Taste."

So last night, I watched one episode of Paris Hilton's My New BFF because I thought Big Brother was on, but it wasn't and I needed something to watch while I ate my dinner! Anyhow, the show was so bad that I just absolutely had to keep watching! The show tries to make Paris seem like she's so classy, sophisticated, elegant, intelligent (haha...) and real (AHAHAHAHAHAHA) that it's just so amusing to watch. However, whether or not the show is real or fake, scripted or unscripted, it is definitely entertaining to watch. So having said that, I ended up doing a My New BFF marathon today (you can watch all the episodes on the MuchMusic or MTV website). I started out with a bit of season 1 and stopped once Onch left because there was no one left in the competition that I cared for and I already knew who the winner was. Then I started season 2, which had some pretty interesting contestants. So, as a result of my close following of a few TV shows, I have decided to start blogging about them since I've always wanted to do that. Oh, and Project Runway season 6 airs August 20th, which I am very excited about! I'm glad all the network fighting over the show has finally settled!

Oh, and Project Runway season 6 airs August 20th, which I am very excited about! I'm glad all the network fighting over the show has finally settled!

10,000 nights of thunder
Damn! I keep having random blackouts at night for the last 2 nights and it's annoying because when the electricity comes back, my printer starts up and it makes an annoying loud sound and my computer exits from sleep mode and turns on!!! It makes me wake up throughout the night!! I need my sleep :(
I watched UP finally and I teared up/cried two times. It's so touching. I think it's my favourite Pixar movie now, but I also love Finding Nemo so much. I am torn! Maybe I love them both equally.
I also realized that my finals are coming up in 2 weeks. Time flies!
