party in the usa

Exams are over! Finally!! Although I am still having my exam hangover (i.e. waking up early stressed out thinking I still have to study for an exam).

I am visiting my aunt right now and they have a ravine in their backyard. I went exploring for a bit and I found a pond full of little frogs!! I should've taken a photo. I might do that later. I just had sushi buffet for lunch and I am so full! Although I still want more of that green tea ice cream. Or maybe even more chocolate ice cream as well. Mmm..!

Tomorrow I will be heading off to LA in the morning. I am excited!

Damn, I should've learned from my previous terms that studying can't be accomplished at home! Heading back to Waterloo right now! ASAP!

Please don't be brutal on me, final exams. Let me pass.. <3?

i don't care

update on my life
What a long weekend! I had to balance a crapload of school work, planning/hosting my friend's birthday party and hanging out with some of my friends who came to visit from Toronto. Today is the last day of lectures, which is bittersweet because that signals the beginning of final exams (ughh...). I can't wait until exams are over so that I can relax and enjoy my trip to LA.

paris hilton's my new bff
I am so glad Amanda's gone. I hated that girl! I didn't like how she had so much attitude towards Liz Habib from FOX News. I also don't like Stefanie. Stop crying please! Go Tiniecia and Stephen!! I can't wait to see their friends and family! :)

big brother 11
Haha, I absolutely love Ronnie! I don't think he's as evil and manipulative as everyone thinks he is. I think it's just because everyone else is stupid and gullible. I am glad Laura was evicted; her two girls were just all in my face. I kind of like Jessie now. Although I hated him so much in the previous season, he is growing on me now. I like the whole Natalie-Jessie-Lydia love triangle that is starting to happen. It's hilarious! The scene when Russell tried to bond with Kevin was sweet and funny as well. I don't really have a favourite yet, but I am starting to get annoyed at Jeff, Natalie and Jordan. Natalie is just annoying, Jordan needs to redo elementary school and I just hate Jeff for his disrespectful comments that CBS apparently censored.

obsessions

This post is solely devoted to PH'S My New BFF, Season 2. I just finished watching 7 episodes!

All I can say is, drama, drama, drama! These contestants love drama and they are not afraid to bitch out for the stupidest reasons. Even David, who considers himself to be the chill masculine straight guy, got all up in Amanda's business after she hid his shoelaces. My favourite episode so far has to be episode 3 when Katie says to Paris "Good luck on your next porno. F*** you Paris. You're not as nice as people think you are." Finally, someone has the guts to say it to her face. Oh, and I absolutely loved how Katie reminds me of Amy Winehouse (minus the whole hideous goth ballerina/Disney princess fashion thing she had going on).

The two contestants I like the most are Tiniecia, with her straight-up and bitch-I-don't-take-no-shit-from-you attitude and Stephen, the gay Mormon, for his hilarious commentary. I hope one of them wins!

Oh and I didn't like how Paris called David a "f***ing tool" behind his back after he got eliminated. How classy of you, Paris. I think someone needs to improve in their choice of words. Ironic how the episode is titled "Must Have Good Taste."

"Could you be the one I want? My best friend. Could you be the one I need? My best friend."
- Paris Hilton

So last night, I watched one episode of Paris Hilton's My New BFF because I thought Big Brother was on, but it wasn't and I needed something to watch while I ate my dinner! Anyhow, the show was so bad that I just absolutely had to keep watching! The show tries to make Paris seem like she's so classy, sophisticated, elegant, intelligent (haha...) and real (AHAHAHAHAHAHA) that it's just so amusing to watch. However, whether or not the show is real or fake, scripted or unscripted, it is definitely entertaining to watch. So having said that, I ended up doing a My New BFF marathon today (you can watch all the episodes on the MuchMusic or MTV website). I started out with a bit of season 1 and stopped once Onch left because there was no one left in the competition that I cared for and I already knew who the winner was. Then I started season 2, which had some pretty interesting contestants. So, as a result of my close following of a few TV shows, I have decided to start blogging about them since I've always wanted to do that. Oh, and Project Runway season 6 airs August 20th, which I am very excited about! I'm glad all the network fighting over the show has finally settled!

10,000 nights of thunder

Damn! I keep having random blackouts at night for the last 2 nights and it's annoying because when the electricity comes back, my printer starts up and it makes an annoying loud sound and my computer exits from sleep mode and turns on!!! It makes me wake up throughout the night!! I need my sleep :(

I watched UP finally and I teared up/cried two times. It's so touching. I think it's my favourite Pixar movie now, but I also love Finding Nemo so much. I am torn! Maybe I love them both equally.

I also realized that my finals are coming up in 2 weeks. Time flies!

relax, take it easy

ramble.
What a rough few weeks! Midterms was sad, my wallet has been sad (although my student loans should be arriving soon) and my sleeping schedule is sad! I've been suffering from a bit of insomnia for the past three months or so and it's not pleasant at all. It doesn't help when I have to wake up for a class at 8:30 am, which by the way, I never attend. I can't wait until this school term finally ends! I will be going to Los Angeles for a 1-2 week vacation, which I am very excited for. I will use this blog as a way to document the trip.

psych class and an important life lesson.
This week I attended a very interesting psychology lecture, which talked about why people get into bad relationships. My professor discussed a model she uses for her clients to describe complicated relationship problems, which can also be applied to other parts of life and not just relationships. Most of the lecture was a lot of confusing theory, which I am not allowed to talk about since it's a copyrighted theory, but at the end of lecture I got some very interesting and valuable advice that can be applied in my own life. Basically, people who are mentally strong, grounded and make good decisions are the ones who hold strong values and beliefs within themselves and can refer to them whenever necessary. Those who lack this ability are the ones who constantly rely on external entities, such as other people and objects, including family, friends, partners, money, hot cars, hot clothes, a school mark or a test score. These people can fall and lose themselves very easily because they are so attached to these external entities that when one loses hold of one of these entities, they don't have nothing else to hold on to, and thus they fall hard and lose track of their life, which leads to consequences such as depression. However, if a person is grounded on their own internal values and beliefs, then even when they lose hold of such an external entity, they can't fall because they are able to hold on to their own personal values and remind themselves of what is ultimately important in their life.

I don't expect the reader to understand this completely since I have a vague understanding of this model as well, but what I want to say is that after reflecting this model on myself, I was able to understand why I have been so depressed lately. I am not strong. I have forgotten my values and have been clinging on to external things in my life, such as school, marks, money, success and trying to impress my family. I have not been doing so well in terms of school and as a result, I lost hold of myself and began to fall and breakdown. But after reminding myself of what my ultimate goal in life really is, I started to feel better because success, money and school marks are not my values; they are the traditional values of my family that I have held onto because I have forgotten my own values.

I am not saying school, money and success are unimportant, but they shouldn't be the root of my life--something that determines who I am. Instead, they should be a leaf, something that I have to hold onto, but even if I lose it, I still have many others to hold on to.

happy things
MOVIES, MOVIES AND MORE MOVIES! There are many good movies coming out soon that I absolutely have to watch! This weekend I will be watching UP! which I have been stalling since forever! Movies that are in my upcoming list to watch are: Bruno, Transformers 2, Ice Age 3 (OMFG SO CUTE), Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (is it me or are the actors starting to get wayyyy too old for their parts now?) and maybe G.I. Joe.

Girl who does not age: http://abcnews.go.com/2020/Health/Story?id=7880954&page=1
A 16-year old girl with the body and mind of an infant. I found this article and news segment absolutely fascinating! I've heard of older people having a mental age of young children and older people with bodies of an infant, but this seems to be a merge of the two!! And she still has baby teeth! I wish the best for her and her family.
